When King of Romance Shahrukh Khan stepped into the industry, he made two rules about films. One, he will never ride horse nor will he kiss (French kiss) an actress on screen. In an interview given to India Today, Shahrukh Khan himself has accepted this thing. He told that in the early days he was very uncomfortable about kissing and horse riding in films. However, he did not know how to do them on screen or say that he used to get uncomfortable in doing these scenes.
But at the time of shooting of the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Yash Chopra convinced Shahrukh to break this rule. According to the script of the film, Shahrukh had to kiss Katrina Kaif. Yash Chopra told him that- ‘I know you don’t do all this, but you should do this, this is the demand of the script.’ Shahrukh refused to say his No Kissing Rule and then Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra left.
But later Yash, Aditya and Katrina Kaif got together and started pressuring Shahrukh to do kissing scene. Yash ji also insisted that you should do it, it is not such a big deal. Since Shahrukh used to respect Yash Chopra a lot, so he agreed to what he said. In this way, in the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Shahrukh kissed a heroine for the first time on screen.
In this interview, Shahrukh had said- ‘Like actresses say that she wore a bikini on demand for the story. Believe it or not I likewise did the first kiss in the film in compulsion on the demand of the script.
