After the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the audience can now know the truth of the life of Kashmiri Pandits through another film. Producer Puneet Balan has come up with a short film titled ‘The Hindu Boy’ to show the current situation of Kashmiri Pandits. It is directed by Shahnawaz Iqbal.
Such is the story before the climax
‘The Hindu Boy’ depicts the story of a Hindu Pandit boy, who is Kaul Saab’s son. After nearly 30 years of exodus, he returns to Kashmir to see his ancestral home. The story revolves around the behaviour of Kashmiris upon his return and the fear of the family of a Kashmiri Pandit boy. This film breaks many prejudices of the audience. When the Hindu boy reaches Kashmir by bike, he is stopped by a local Kashmiri. Due to fear, the Hindu boy goes ahead by telling his Muslim name. When he reaches his ancestral home, his old neighbors recognize him. Even his childhood name and mother’s name are remembered by them. Ther remembers the entire Kaul family and the Hindu boy is warmly welcomed.
On the other hand, the boy’s parents are shown scared about the fact that they do not know what will happen to their son there. The fear of parents goes hand in hand in the film. For the safety of the son, Kaul saab calls a leader in Kashmir and asks him to take care of the son. He tries to play a political trick of his own here. In the beginning of this short film, a scene of a Kashmiri Hindu child is shown, where is tilalk is being removed, which is removed by his father i.e. Kaul Saheb himself. But in the end there is a very beautiful scene about tilak. What is that scene and how is it, you will be able to see the full story in the film. The lyrics of the background song that accompany the film are heart-touching. The song ‘Main aata hoon apni mitti se milkar…’ is beautifully written.
