Get ready for an exciting addition to the ‘Brahmastra’ universe! According to reports, Ranveer Singh has signed on to play a key role in the upcoming sequel, ‘Brahmastra 2: Dev’.
Singh will portray Dev, none other than the father of Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Shiva. While the scripting for the film is still underway, shooting is expected to begin in 2025.
Director Ayan Mukerji is currently busy with ‘War 2’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, while Singh has ‘Baiju Bawra’ lined up for next year. This means the exact start date for ‘Brahmastra 2’ remains uncertain.
Adding to the buzz, reports suggest Singh might also star in ‘Don 3’, potentially delaying his ‘Brahmastra 2’ commitment. If this pans out, Singh will share screen space with Deepika Padukone once again, who played Shiva’s mother in the first part.
The original ‘Brahmastra’ was a success, lauded for its stunning VFX and intriguing storyline. While some criticized the dialogues, particularly Alia Bhatt’s, the film’s characters, setting, and cameos from Shah Rukh Khan and Nagarjuna were praised.
‘Brahmastra’ grossed a whopping Rs 431 crores worldwide, including Rs 269.4 crores in India, making it one of 2022’s biggest blockbusters. Mukerji has already announced sequels, with ‘Brahmastra Part Two: Dev’ slated for December 2026 and ‘Brahmastra Part Three’ scheduled for December 2027.
The addition of Ranveer Singh to the cast adds an exciting new dimension to the ‘Brahmastra’ saga. With its talented cast and crew, the film promises to be another visual spectacle and a thrilling adventure for fans.
