PS1 Review: 28 years of hard work by Mani Ratnam has yielded results, with Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and a huge star cast, Ponniyin Selvan 1 Released. From the beginning to the ending of the story of the film, everything is superb. Fantastic storyline, dangerous war scenes and stellar VFX make Ponniyin Selvan 1 the best historical epic drama film of 2022 and of all time.
Ponniyin Selvan 1 is India’s second most expensive budget film and its story is bigger than its budget. Ponniyin Selvan is one such story in which the Chola Empire, which ruled for 400 years all over South India, is depicted. A prosperous rule that does not care about the enemies because it is protected by 1 thousand ships and 1 million soldiers. No enemy army can defeat the Cholas in sea and land, but only then is the prophecy. “A meteorite will fall on the earth from the sky, which will destroy the Chola dynasty.” This prophecy shook the foundation of the entire empire.
How is Ponniyin Selvan 1
You get much more after watching this film than what was shown in the trailer of the film. People are saying that even Rajamouli’s Bahubali is nothing in front of PS1. PS 1 is like Hollywood historical drama movie Helen of Troy and Game of Thrones. There is no answer to the story of Ponniyin Selvan 1, the VFX used by Mani Ratnam has not been seen in any Indian film so far. Others should learn from PS1 how to make great use of VFX.
Is Ponniyin Selvan 1 worth watching?
Absolutely, experiencing such a film is a wonderful experience in itself. Ponniyin Selvan 1 may be a fictional film, but what is depicted in it about the Chola Empire tells you about the power of the mighty rulers of India. AR Rahman, who gave music in the film, said that ever since I saw PS 1, I have stopped watching Hollywood historical drama films.
