The story of the film revolves around Major (Siddhant Chaturvedi) and Gullu (Ishaan Khattar), who seem to be inspired by ghosts from the very beginning. They always wants to do something haunting like this in their life. In such a situation, something happens during a party, after which both of them start seeing souls. After this, the spirit of Ragini (Katrina Kaif) comes to both of them, and together they start a business, which liberates the souls and on the other hand rids the people from ghosts and spirits. Meanwhile, Ragini’s flashback is told about how she died and why she is doing this work with Major and Gullu. Jackie Shroff is in the role of Villain Atmaram in the film. What’s special:
The film binds the atmosphere from the first 2-5 minutes and starts making you laugh. There are some very funny dialogues in the very beginning, which make you laugh. The film has not been forcibly stretched, which is a good thing, and soon the film hits the track, i.e. Katrina’s entry. The recipe of ‘Gullu Special’ in the film is also very bad to think about, but looks very fun to watch in the film. In the film, you will also find some elements that you can connect to in real life as well, such as the father’s concern for the children’s future and sometimes being strict. Along with all this, the voiceover of the film is quite spectacular, especially the interval, which you will not be able to stop laughing after listening to it. At the same time, Gullu’s reaction on Ragini’s love story is also very cute, which you will remember. The film also has some surprises like ‘Hero Theme’, ‘Choocha’, ‘Raaka’ and ‘Rajinikanth’.
How is the acting and direction:
The film begins with Ishaan and Siddhant, out of which Siddhant is Punjabi and Siddhant is a South Indian, and the funny thing is that both fit their characters. Siddhant has got the character’s line right, while Ishaan has played this character quite beautifully. There is a South Indian touch in Ishaan’s colloquialism, but it doesn’t overwhelm anywhere. Katrina has also done a fine job in the film, though she is expected to do better. At the same time, her Hindi still seems to be quite weak. Apart from these three, Jackie Shroff has done a great job in the film, while on one hand his look is going well, on the other hand his voice has also killed. On the other hand, this film is incomplete without mentioning Sheeba Chaddha. Sheeba has put her life into this character with utmost innocence. After acting, when it comes to directing, the film is directed by Gurmeet. Beauty is seen in his work.
Where did it lack?
While many things are good in the film, there are some things which could have been better. Like, WhatsApp jokes were used in many places in the film, which have been heard for many years. Some of the scenes you’ve seen in old movies (like the slow car scene in Hey Baby) could have been portrayed differently. There is no depth in Ragini and Dushyant’s love story, though a battle is fought for it later. While the first part of the film is strong, the second part proves to be less than that. The film’s VFX resembles Cartoon Network’s, and proves to be quite weak in the end. Apart from this, there is scope for the best in the film on some technical issues. The film is being called a horror comedy, while there is no such thing as horror.

Overall, Phone Bhoot is such a film, which you will enjoy with friends more than family. The music of the film is good, the story is good and there is a lot of comedy. Along with this, the characters have done justice to their characters. So you can watch this movie.
