After getting postponed several times due to COVID-19, Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Jersey’ is finally hitting the theatres tomorrow, i.e. on April 22. Earlier ‘Jersey’ was scheduled to release on April 14 but the much-awaited film ‘KGF Chapter 2’ was releasing on the same day. Even before its release, ‘Jersey’ was accused of script theft and landed in legal trouble. Due to this, the film was delayed for another week. But now Shahid’s fans are very happy after its final release date is out.

Earlier this month, Shahid Kapoor-starrer ‘Jersey’ producer Aman Gill issued a statement on April 14, stating the real reason for the film’s failure to release. According to Aman, the film landed in legal trouble after writer Rajneesh Jaiswal had claimed that ‘Jersey’ had plagiarized his script. However, the film is all set to release on April 22 after the Bombay High Court ruled in favor of the makers of Jersey.

Let us tell you that ‘Jersey’ is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name . Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur will be seen together for the first time in the film. Along with them, Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj Kapoor is also in the lead role in the film. The film is directed by Gautam Tanushree.
