Samantha said in an interview to Miss Malini, ‘I could not understand why should I sit in hiding because of divorce? I didn’t commit any crime? I didn’t even do anything wrong, then why should I sit at home? You know, after the official announcement, even my closest friends, who always used to motivate me to move forward, left me. I was upset. I gave 100 per cent to my marriage. Now my marriage did not work, so it is not my fault. I could not blame myself nor feel guilty.
Accepted the offer of ‘O Antawa’ only because of this
Samantha further added, “I loved the lyrics of ‘Oo Antawa’. I had not performed in any item song before. I love playing different characters and I was not looking at it as an item song but as a character. Allu Arjun also helped me a lot. He also didn’t want the song to be seen as a proper stereotype item song.”
