Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Movie Review: The story of Doctor Strange, the superhero of the magical world of the Marvel series, is back on the silver screen. Which the audience was eagerly waiting for. The film is directed by Sam, who directed Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy. Apart from this trilogy, he is also known for directing the horror film Evil Dead’s franchise, he has merged these two worlds in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness. Which along with the fantasy also has the colors of fear.
Story
Talking about the story, Doctor Strange aka Stephen is trying to save the world from evil forces, but he is not happy as Christine is about to get married. One day a girl America (Gomez) bumps into Stephen. She has the power to take herself and other people to different universes, but there is someone who wants to take away this power from her. She is none other than Wanda. Why does Wanda want this? Will Doctor Strange be able to save America from Wanda? How? The story further answers these questions. Marvel series films are full of VFX, but also have a lot of emotion and humour. This film is also not untouched by it. After the death of her partner, Wanda is looking for a new world of her own. A universe in which she is the mother. She can put the whole world in trouble to keep two children safe. She is also ready to become a villain in the eyes of everyone. She only wants that those kids love her. This aspect has been well incorporated in the story. Doctor Strange’s loneliness and Gomez’s separation from her family are also included in the screenplay. Emotion is part of screenplay and humour is part of dialogue. Which lightens the mood of the film.
There’s a lot in the film
Talking about the flaws, the screenplay of the film is a bit tricky, you don’t have to take your eyes off the screen as a lot is going on the screen. Missing anything can ruin your fun. People who look alike in two universes, but completely different from each other in nature. This aspect of the film can also be confusing for many viewers. Which has made this film a bit weak.
Awesome visual effects
As expected from the visual effects of the film is fine. An action sequence is shown through musical notes, made it interesting. The action sequence depicting the diversity of different universes is also good. This film with superheroes has also taken the colour of horror. When Wanda is chasing America in a Simple Jeans t-shirt. That sequence gives the feel of a horror film. Zombies are also in this superhero story. The special thing is that as always, many superheroes of Marvel series are also in this film. Which can force you to whistle and applaud along with giving you a feeling of nostalgia.
How is acting?
Talking about acting, Benedict is in a double role in this film, which he has lived up to. Benedict has completely absorbed the character of Doctor Strange. It would not be wrong to say this. Elizabeth Olsen is to be commended. The way she has performed her character. She seems to be a villain in one moment, but in the next moment she also speaks well of the weakness of a mother. Gomez has appeared on-screen with full confidence. Rachel and Benedict Wong have also done justice to their characters.
Overall, the film is a cinematic experience despite some flaws in the screenplay. If you are a fan of this franchise then the Madness of Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness will surely entice you.
