Akshay Kumar with his spy thriller Bell Bottom has taken the initiative to bring back the glory to the theaters which have been deserted for a long time due to Corona. The film is releasing after Independence Day, so obviously the patriotic feel will add to both its budget and business. Earlier, there were two films on Independence Day – Siddharth Malhotra’s Shershaah and the other Ajay Devgan’s Bhuj. But due to the OTT release of both, they did not have that reach to the general audience.
Now that Bell Bottom is reaching the audience, Akshay Kumar with his star power brings a dose of a fast and crisp scripted thriller. Due to the shooting between Corona, its craze is already visible in the audience.
For the past half a decade, Akshay Kumar has dominated the audience and the box office on the patriotic theme. Bell Bottom is undoubtedly its sequel, in which Akshay Kumar has been seen again in a retro look after Rustom. From the first look of the film, it was clear that Akshay will be seen in the role of an agile and fit detective and he has looked better than expected on screen. In such a role, he has entered his mind in such a way that any director can blindly sign him in a film of patriotism.
By the way, the life of any spy thriller is not just its hero but the dreaded villain, breath-holding action, mesmerizing background score, tight editing and the right supporting cast. Bell bottom has come true in this package. Directed by Director Ranjit M Tiwari, Bell Bottom is a complete thriller package.
Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta are in lead roles with Akshay Kumar. While Huma impresses in a small role, the screen presence of Style Diva Vaani is very fresh. She has a good chemistry with Akshay Kumar and it strengthens the bell bottom in terms of songs. Lara Dutta is the surprise package of this film. Lara’s transformation into the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is amazing. Of course, this film will open new avenues for her.
Overall Bell Bottom is a good package of good acting, action, story and cinematography. Yes, if the music was a little stronger, then of course it would have become stronger. However, thumbs up for Akshay Kumar and production house Pooja Entertainment for completing the film amid the Corona pandemic and bringing it to theaters to revive the business of Bollywood!
