The fourth season of the popular web series “Gullak” is set to premiere on SonyLIV this week. Fans will be delighted to see the return of the main cast from the previous seasons: Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Harsh Mayar, and Sunita Rajwar. This season, however, brings a major twist with the introduction of a new character, Dr. Preeti Singh, who will add a fresh dynamic to Annu Mishra’s storyline.
If you are a regular viewer of the “Gullak” series, you know that the role of Annu Mishra, the eldest son of honest electricity department employee Santosh Mishra, is played by Vaibhav Raj Gupta. Vaibhav’s portrayal of Annu has earned him widespread fame, and his authentic dialogues, reminiscent of his hometown Sitapur, have captivated audiences. In the previous season, Annu started working as a Medical Representative (MR), a role he continues in this new season.
The writing team for “Gullak 4” has undergone changes, with Durgesh Singh stepping down and Vidit Tripathi taking over. Tripathi introduces the character of Dr. Preeti Singh, played by actress Helly Shah, who began her acting career in 2010 with the TV series “Zindagi Ka Har Rang Gulaal.” Helly has starred in several notable TV shows, including “Swaragini,” “Devanshi,” and “Sufiyana Pyaar Mera,” and participated in the ninth season of the dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.”
Before “Gullak 4,” Helly Shah appeared in the OTT series “Ishq Mein Marjawan 2,” but she considers “Gullak” her true OTT debut. She expresses, “This series brings a new female character into the story for the first time. I have been waiting for such a role on OTT for a long time. This is the perfect debut character for me. I play Dr. Preeti Singh in this season. I hope my character will continue in future seasons, giving me a chance to create some beautiful memories on OTT.”
As “Gullak 4” premieres on SonyLIV on June 7, viewers eagerly anticipate the new twists and turns in the story. While the exact point of Annu Mishra’s meeting with Dr. Preeti Singh remains a mystery, sources suggest that this season’s narrative surpasses the previous two. Following the success of TVF’s web series “Panchayat” on Prime Video, “Gullak 4” is ready to entertain viewers on SonyLIV, with TVF’s “Kota Factory” set to release its next season on Netflix later this month.
