What’s special about the story
“Do Aur Do Pyaar” tells the story of Kavya Ganeshan (Vidya Balan) and Aniruddh Banerjee (Prateik Gandhi). The film, which discusses the married life of Kavya and Aniruddh, is going to be immensely liked by the audience. It’s shown in the film that Kavya and Aniruddh have been bound in the relationship of marriage for the past 12 years after dating for three years.
Various troubles in their married life are also depicted. There’s a scene in the film where we hear Kavya screaming about how much she hates Aniruddh’s favorite dish, “Baingan Posto,” while Aniruddh complains about how annoyed he is by Kavya’s stainless steel utensils. The film shows how this 12-year-old marriage has reached this point.
Both characters in this film engage in extramarital affairs. Kavya is dreaming with a hot photographer Vikram (Sendhil Ramamurthy), who has left everything in New York and wants Kavya to live with him in a sea-facing apartment. Meanwhile, Aniruddh is shown having an extramarital affair with theater artist Nora aka Rozi (Ileana D’Cruz). The film shows the pressure on both characters to accept the truth from their respective partners. Kavya and Aniruddh are confused about what they should do.
Even though there’s nothing left in their marriage, after learning this, both characters rekindle their romance in a final ritual. It will be interesting for the audience to see whether they regret it? Or does it help them come closer once again? Will they continue to deceive? Or will their relationship become even more complicated?
How are the performances of the actors?
Vidya Balan has portrayed her role in this film with great honesty. Her laughter is infectious, and her comic timing is remarkable. Similarly, in emotional scenes, Vidya Balan appears impressive. Prateik Gandhi once again surprises people with his performance. As intense as Prateik’s character is shown, he’s carefree as well. Sendhil brings peace to this fast-paced film with his acting. Meanwhile, Sendhil’s expressions can delight the audience. Speaking of Ileana’s character, her character’s arc could have been written better.
Written by Supratim Sengupta and Isha Chopra, this film mainly talks about broken marriages and betrayal, but it also shows the beauty of the relationship between a father and daughter. This film is a very mature and somewhat daring story with the right balance of humor. Its storytelling is simple yet impactful.
