Fans have been waiting for Prabhas starrer film Salaar Part 1 for a long time. The film was announced a long time ago, but there was a lot of delay in its release. However, now that the film is releasing, there are two more big films in competition with this film, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Dunki and Aquaman 2, which is a Hollywood film. Now the producer of Salaar has revealed why he decided to release Salaar with these two films.
Why was the September date postponed?
Salaar was originally scheduled to release on September 28, but then the release date of the film was pushed forward. So what was the reason behind this? Producer Vijay Kiragandur said, “There is a lot of work to be done in a feature film, whether it is music, VFX, dubbing, sound. When we add these things, we felt that it would take a little time. We had given the VFX team a deadline till mid-August. But we got only 50 percent of the VFX till mid-August. At that time, we realized that we cannot release the film on September 28. We then decided to postpone the film.”
After that, we looked at the dates from September 2023 to May 2024. The date that we liked was December 22. Yes, many Bollywood films and some other films are also releasing on that day, but since it is the end of December, people will enjoy the holidays. That is why the film is being released on December 22.
Why did you choose December 22?
Dunki and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are releasing on December 21, while Salaar is releasing on December 22. It is being said that this date was finalized due to astrological reasons. So is it true? To this, Vijay said, “Yes, we believe in some things. We have been finalizing dates like this for 10-12 years and we will continue to do so in the future. That’s how we finalized the date of December 22.”
