Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi’s film OMG 2 release is just a few days away. The makers had set the release date as August 11, but the film has not received a green signal from the Censor Board yet. On one hand, the Censor Board does not want to take any risk, on the other hand, the makers are also not ready to back down. According to one report, CBFC wants the makers to show Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva’s messenger instead of portraying him as Shiva.
Will Mahadev’s character be changed in the film?
Some scenes of Akshay Kumar’s film have already gone viral on the internet. Some people have objected to scenes like Mahadev emerging from the river and sitting under a tap near the train to bathe. According to some reports, the Censor Board is adamant that either Akshay Kumar’s character should be changed or he should be shown as the messenger of Shiva. However, so far no official announcement has come from the makers’ side regarding these reports.
Censor Board had put 20 cuts in OMG 2
A few days back there was news that the review committee of the Censor Board had sent the film to the revising committee where it was asked to make 20 cuts in the film. These include the scene where Akshay Kumar is seen portraying Shiva in blue makeup. There are only 11 days left for the film’s release and the trailer has not been released yet. In such a situation, promoters and distributors have very little time left.
Who will benefit from OMG 2 release date postponed?
Since this news is also going viral on social media that the film’s release date may be postponed, it is also important to understand that the direct benefit of the film being postponed will go to Sunny Deol’s film ‘Gadar 2’. The reason being that both films are set to release together. But if Akshay Kumar’s film gets postponed, then the box office collection of ‘Gadar 2’ can be better.
