Came back again
Dimple and Rajesh Khanna’s wedding was a dream wedding. Rajesh Khanna was a superstar at that time. Everything went well for a few years of marriage but soon a rift developed between them. They finally separated in 1984. After this Dimple Kapadia again returned to the industry and she worked in the film ‘Sagar’. She gave more than one film. Among these are ‘Lekin…’, ‘Rudali’, ‘Gardish’, ‘Krantiveer’, ‘Kaash’, ‘Drishti’ among others.

Talking about her marriage, Dimple had told why Rajesh Khanna and she separated. On The Pritish Nandy Show, Dipal said that she and Rajesh Khanna were of completely different minds. She realized this after marriage. She said, ‘I think we were two completely different types of people. I was probably too young to understand what was happening to a man who was a superstar. I could never understand the stars and their behavior patterns at all because I am not like that myself. I could not understand.
How Dimple proposed
In a program of FICCI, Dimple Kapadia told how she proposed Rajesh Khanna in gestures. She said, ‘We were going to Ahmedabad in a private flight for a function. I was very dramatic. Was fond of drama since childhood. He was sitting next to me. I was watching them. I was very clever. Told him, “There will be a lot of crowd there, won’t you hold my hand?” He said – “Yes of course”, I said, “Forever.” And everybody knows what happens next .
