In this most awaited period action drama film, superstar Akshay Kumar is in the lead role i.e. Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, while former Miss World Manushi Chhillar has made her cinematic debut with this film as Sanyogita. Actors Sanjay Dutt as Kaka Kanha, Sonu Sood as Chandvardai, Manav Vij as Mohammad Gauri and Ashutosh Rana as Raja Jaichand of Kannauj.
Samrat Prithviraj Movie Story
The story of this film is based on the epic Prithviraj Raso. In this, the description of the entire life of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, the epitome of greatness, is found. His valor and struggle as well as his love and marriage with Sanyogita have been shot beautifully in the film. The film depicts the Battle of Tarain in which Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan defeated the Muslim invader Mohammad Ghori. In this war, the army of Mohammad Ghori had fled. The film shows how Mohammed Ghori was defeated in battle by Emperor Prithviraj.
Samrat Prithviraj is not just a movie but a real story of the passion and struggle of a great king. Chandraprakash Dwivedi has made this story entertaining for the film screen by adding a touch of emotion, romance and action. The grand set of palaces, costumes, shooting location to show that era takes you back to the times of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. Sets from Delhi, Rajasthan and Kannauj were made at Sinte Ground in Borivali, Mumbai. To show them differently, Chandraprakash Dwivedi used red for the palaces of Delhi, yellow for Rajasthan and white for Kannauj. The action sequences in this film made with a budget of 300 crores are tremendous. In the film, Akshay Kumar is seen fighting with lions. These lions are not made from VFX, but are real. The crew members had gone to Africa for this scene and there, custom scenes were shot with trained lions. The activity of lions was shot through chroma and after coming to Mumbai, Akshay was matched through chroma.
This scene fills your veins with josh, and the slogans of Har Har Bholenath during the time of war enthuse the audience. Background music is also no match. Now let’s talk about acting. Akshay Kumar is the weakest link in this film. He was dressed as Prithviraj, but seeing him on the screen, one does not feel like Emperor Prithviraj. He has been seen as Akshay on screen, although the film will not bore due to strong dialogues and action. On the other hand, Manushi Chhillar’s work as Sanyogita is average.
According to her debut film, Manushi has tried to give 100 percent in everything from acting to expression. Sanjay Dutt’s cameo is commendable, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij and Ashutosh Rana have been seen in their roles. The supporting cast has strengthened the film. If the supporting cast is removed or there is a slight mistake in this selection, then it does not take long for the whole fun of the film to get spoiled. The music of the film is captivating, and the songs give complete enjoyment as per the situation and requirement.
