In the trial between Hollywood stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, jurors have ruled, and the verdict has come in Johnny Depp’s favor. The former couple had accused each other of violence in the defamation suit. The verdict was read at 3 p.m. (American Times) in Fairfax County Circuit Court, Virginia.
A jury on Wednesday ruled in favor of Depp in a defamation suit against Hollywood actor Johnny Depp’s ex-wife and actress Amber Heard. Heard claimed that Depp abused her before and after their marriage.
The jury heard Hurd’s side, saying that Depp’s attorney had defamed him and called his allegations of abuse a hoax. The jurors said Depp should be paid $15 million in damages, while Heard should get $2 million.
Depp filed a defamation suit in Fairfax County circuit court in a December 2018 op-ed. He sued over an article by Heard in the Washington Post.
The trial of this case was broadcast live on TV. Now that the verdict is in Johnny Depp’s favor, Pirates of the Caribbean star “Captain Jack Sparrow” is hoping to regain his lost reputation.
